Job description

​My client is looking to bring on a Project Finance Associate/Manager who will structure and execute financial transactions.

The company is a leading IPP that specializes in utility-scale energy storage projects. They recently got purchased by a large Korean conglomerate. Their new owner has committed to injecting over $2B over the next few years to help continue to expand.

You will have visibility to the whole organization (board-level, c-level and across project development, finance and engineering) and will have the chance to shape your own role within the next 18 months.

The Role:

  • Construct financial models for projects in active development and feasibility and projects firm is selling shares of and considering acquiring

  • Work closely with the development team to identify and manage the inputs to the project financial models

  • Contribute to the development of information memorandums, management presentations, pitch books and marketing materials

  • Evaluate potential acquisitions and analyze financial data of projects considered, and identify issues and opportunities to provide to management that will contribute to decision making

  • Research project finance transactions closed by others to identify possible markets of execution, pricing, debt levels, trends and best practices

  • Assist with ad hoc tasks as assigned and perform other duties as directed

The Person:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field

  • 2-6 years of work experience in project finance, accounting, or financial modeling

  • Proven ability to create and maintain financial models including debt and tax equity financing models

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and macros, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of ISO/RTO energy markets is preferred

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Balance multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously

  • Be able to work as part of a team towards a common goal

  • Quick learner and strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively perform within a matrix organizational environment

  • Exhibit high ethical standards and practices
