Job description

​TGRC is seeking a: Project Engineer (HV Power Transformers), based in Greater London.

Our client is a leading global supplier of high-voltage power transformers with project experience in over 70 countries. Due to securing significant substation contracts with a market-leading utilities company, they are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical communications and discussions with customers across the entire business value chain, using your technical skills for tendering, sales, project execution, and after-sales services.

  • Provide technical support to sales and project management departments during tender and quotation processes to secure orders.

  • Coordinate with the factory to order design drawings and prepare technical documentation according to customer specifications.

  • Clarify technical questions from customers and direct them to the factory and project managers.

  • Review technical documentation, such as Design Review documents, mechanical drawings, schematic drawings, and test reports.

  • Consult with the factory to ensure that technical documentation aligns with customer requirements and recommend any necessary revisions.

  • Ensure that results and deliverables are delivered to customers on time.

  • Participate in the investigation of technical issues on-site and contribute to the procedures and corrective actions.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or master's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical or mechanical/schematic design for oil-immersed transformers.

  • Additional experience with products such as Shunt Reactors and Special Transformers is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical aspects of design.

  • Familiarity with high voltage transformer principles, manufacturing knowledge, relevant technical and manufacturing standards, design and manufacturing processes, equipment and facility status, and installation procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical and process problems.

  • Ability to work independently to complete assignments in a timely manner.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and associated tools.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Strong team player to work in a worldwide, multicultural technical team.

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
