Position: PMO Manager

Reports to: VP, Technical Management

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

As the PMO Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Project Management Office. This role involves supporting the development, execution, and successful delivery of offshore wind and renewable projects, major capital projects for our client's 2000 MW power plant, and driving the evolution of processes and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive project management strategy for offshore wind and renewable projects, as well as major capital projects for the power plant.

  • Establish and lead the Project Management Office, defining processes, methodologies, and standards for project execution. Implement effective project governance to ensure consistency and quality across all initiatives.

  • Support the development of offshore wind, renewable energy projects and major capital projects from conceptualization through feasibility studies and into the execution phase.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project viability, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

  • Drive the further development and enhancement of processes and procedures within the PMO.

  • Lead the development and implementation of a Project Management Information System (PMIS) tailored to the needs of offshore wind, renewable projects, and power plant capital projects inclusive of both portfolio and project dashboards.

  • Ensure alignment with a large capital project stage gate process.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support projects by developing methods for identifying, documenting, and mitigating potential risks associated with projects, both offshore wind and power plant capital projects.

  • Develop a means to effectively manage project budgets for offshore wind, renewable, and power plant capital projects.

  • Monitor and report on budgetary performance, optimizing resource utilization.

  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all projects meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop standardized methods for Project Managers to maintain detailed records of project activities, stakeholder communications, and issue resolutions.

Skill Requirements

  • Extensive experience in project management, with a focus on offshore wind, renewable projects, and major capital projects for power plants.

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.

  • Proven experience in developing and enhancing processes and procedures within a PMO.

  • Experience in implementing Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Project management and energy-related certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, REP, etc.)
