Our client is a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. North America is a strategic growth market for the Company; to support this growth, we are seeking a Network Commissioning Manager who will be responsible for commissioning of network infrastructure in energy storage projects onsite or by remote technical support.
Employment:Full-time
Location:Remote (25-50% travel)
Pay rate:$130k+ (DOE)
Responsibilities:
This position will be a member of client's internal and customer technical Subject Matter Expert Team for ESS Products and Projects and will work closely with the following group: Software Delivery, Product Delivery, Project Management, Commissioning Manager, and other various groups to ensure ESS projects fulfill customer functionality and contract requirements.
Specific areas of responsibility include the following:
Support commissioning team at site or remotely with communication network configuration
Collaborates with the relevant team in the preparation and coordination of projects technical materials
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols to achieve commercial operation, based on market rules, local AHJ/utility requirements, and contracts.
Communicate commissioning plan and performance test procedures and activities with the client.
Prepare and maintain commissioning time schedule.
Organize start-up and tests of equipment within the scope of the contract.
Safeguard the compliance with EHS policies and minimize risks during commissioning.
Ensure that safe commissioning practices are followed.
Ensure that all test results are documented according to Wärtsilä instructions.
Manage integration of project quality documentation to commissioning procedures.
Maintain good reporting practices.
Ensure that safe and calibrated test equipment are used.
Ensure that all required documents are submitted and signed by the client for taking over of the plant.
Compile commissioning documents for submittal to the client.
Ensure safe and reliable function of the plant and equipment.
Ownership of administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to: service reports, issue logging/tracking, job safety analysis, quality compliance.
Drive continuous improvement on developing and capturing technical problem-solving knowledge to enable other organizations to effectively resolve customer problems and inquiries.
The Individual:
Education: Minimum Bachelors or Masters degree in the field of Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
5 years’ experience with renewable energy (Solar Utility Scale) and/or Energy Storage System, Power System Design, Communication Network, and minor Software.
Basic understanding of Electrical Engineering and power systems
Knowledge of TCP/IP network communication devices and protocols
Knowledge of Networking – VLAN, NAT, and basic principle of switches and routers configuration.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocol (Modbus, OPC DA/OPC UA)
Familiar with ssh and tunneling.
Attention to details and good time management skill. Ability to multi-tasking and engage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices in software products
