​Our client is a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. North America is a strategic growth market for the Company; to support this growth, we are seeking a Network Commissioning Manager who will be responsible for commissioning of network infrastructure in energy storage projects onsite or by remote technical support.

Employment:Full-time

Location:Remote (25-50% travel)

Pay rate:$130k+ (DOE)

Responsibilities:

This position will be a member of client's internal and customer technical Subject Matter Expert Team for ESS Products and Projects and will work closely with the following group: Software Delivery, Product Delivery, Project Management, Commissioning Manager, and other various groups to ensure ESS projects fulfill customer functionality and contract requirements.

Specific areas of responsibility include the following:

  • Support commissioning team at site or remotely with communication network configuration

  • Collaborates with the relevant team in the preparation and coordination of projects technical materials

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols to achieve commercial operation, based on market rules, local AHJ/utility requirements, and contracts.

  • Communicate commissioning plan and performance test procedures and activities with the client.

  • Prepare and maintain commissioning time schedule.

  • Organize start-up and tests of equipment within the scope of the contract.

  • Safeguard the compliance with EHS policies and minimize risks during commissioning.

  • Ensure that safe commissioning practices are followed.

  • Ensure that all test results are documented according to Wärtsilä instructions.

  • Manage integration of project quality documentation to commissioning procedures.

  • Maintain good reporting practices.

  • Ensure that safe and calibrated test equipment are used.

  • Ensure that all required documents are submitted and signed by the client for taking over of the plant.

  • Compile commissioning documents for submittal to the client.

  • Ensure safe and reliable function of the plant and equipment.

  • Ownership of administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to: service reports, issue logging/tracking, job safety analysis, quality compliance.

  • Drive continuous improvement on developing and capturing technical problem-solving knowledge to enable other organizations to effectively resolve customer problems and inquiries.

The Individual:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelors or Masters degree in the field of Information Technology, or equivalent work experience

  • 5 years’ experience with renewable energy (Solar Utility Scale) and/or Energy Storage System, Power System Design, Communication Network, and minor Software.

  • Basic understanding of Electrical Engineering and power systems

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network communication devices and protocols

  • Knowledge of Networking – VLAN, NAT, and basic principle of switches and routers configuration.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocol (Modbus, OPC DA/OPC UA)

  • Familiar with ssh and tunneling.

  • Attention to details and good time management skill. Ability to multi-tasking and engage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices in software products
