Manufacturing Manager
Job description
The Client
A U.S.-based solar manufacturing platform is scaling domestic module production and strengthening its production leadership team. This role sits at the core of factory ramp-up, equipment reliability, and process stability during a critical expansion phase.
The Role
The Manufacturing Manager owns production process performance and manufacturing equipment readiness across the solar module production line. The mandate is straightforward: stabilize output, improve yield and uptime, and support capacity expansion from initial operations toward large-scale, multi-shift manufacturing. This position works closely with plant leadership, engineering, quality, and overseas equipment partners.
Key Responsibilities
Own and optimize end-to-end manufacturing processes across the module production line
Lead installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of production equipment and new lines
Act as the technical interface with equipment suppliers, including Asia-based vendors
Drive improvements in yield, efficiency, uptime, and process stability
Support transition from single-shift to multi-shift operations through standardization and training
Troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues in live production environments
Partner with quality, engineering, and operations teams on continuous improvement
Contribute to CAPEX planning, technical documentation, and expansion readiness
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
7+ years’ experience in solar module manufacturing or high-volume industrial manufacturing
Hands-on ownership of production equipment and process optimization
Direct experience with factory ramp-up and scale-up environments
Familiarity with equipment and process technologies sourced from Asia strongly preferred
Comfortable operating independently in fast-growth, low-bureaucracy settings
