Logistics Assistant
Job description
TGRC are hiring on behalf of our client, a developer and constructor of utility-scale renewable energy projects, for a Site Logistics & Materials Assistant to support the delivery of a major project.
This is a critical, site-based role responsible for controlling the receipt, storage, verification and distribution of materials across the project lifecycle. You will act as the central interface between suppliers, transport providers, subcontractors and the site management team to ensure materials are delivered, stored and released in line with programme and quality requirements.
There are three positions available, each position will be based on site at one of the following locations:
East Midlands
Central England/East Midlands
South West England
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Coordination & Interface Management
Interface with group suppliers to monitor and update delivery schedules to the site
Develop and manage daily and weekly delivery schedules
Communicate with transport companies to align and track deliveries of fixed structures, trackers and modules, ensuring accurate ETAs
Provide daily delivery reports and material status updates to the client
Participate in management meetings to report on logistics and material flow
Materials Receipt & Control
Receive trucks and supervise unloading operations
Check and verify quantities of materials delivered to the site
Review and reconcile invoices, delivery notes and packing lists
Complete and manage RIR, RM and associated documentation
Update and maintain material receipt and tracking spreadsheets
Storage & Distribution Oversight
Verify storage infrastructure, preservation standards and correct material handling procedures
Supervise the counting of materials received, stored and released
Control the release of materials to subcontractors
Cross-check RM quantities with site electrical, mechanical and civil teams before release
Monitor and control quantities delivered to each subcontractor and field location
Supervise relocation and positioning of materials in accordance with the site layout defined by Project and Site Management
Candidate Requirements
Strong organisational and multitasking capability
Solid understanding of logistics systems and supply chain management
Experience in site-based materials control, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure projects
Ability to analyse logistical risks and resolve issues quickly
Strong communication skills, capable of coordinating across multiple stakeholders
Proficient in relevant software tools and reporting systems
Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to documentation and material control
This role requires precision, accountability and proactive coordination. You will be directly responsible for maintaining material integrity, ensuring programme alignment and preventing site delays caused by logistical failure.
