Lead Legal Strategy in Renewable Energy Asset Management

A prestigious opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Manager (Asset Management) to join a leading international renewable energy IPP in Shanghai. This role is ideal for a legal professional with extensive experience in asset management within China’s renewable energy sector, who is adept at navigating complex legal frameworks and ensuring compliance across operational assets.

About the Role

As a Legal Manager (Asset Management), you will oversee all legal aspects of renewable energy asset management, ensuring that projects remain compliant, legally sound, and optimized for long-term performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on asset management matters, including project financing, contracts, and regulatory compliance.

• Oversee and manage legal risk assessment across operational assets.

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, power purchase contracts, and investment transactions.

• Ensure compliance with local and international energy regulations, environmental laws, and corporate governance.

• Collaborate with finance, operations, and senior leadership teams to optimize asset performance and risk mitigation strategies.

• Represent the company in legal proceedings, regulatory discussions, and contract negotiations.

Key Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

• Extensive legal experience in asset management within the renewable energy sector in China.

• Strong knowledge of Chinese energy regulations, corporate law, and contract negotiation.

• Proven ability to manage legal risk, regulatory compliance, and contract execution.

• Experience in working with IPP asset portfolios, PPAs, and financial structuring.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Fluent English language skills (business level) are essential.
