Job description
Our client, a highly regarded European Solar Developer, are seeking a German Qualified Legal Counsel who will primarily support their German business with the development and construction of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Pro-actively and autonomously provide legal support in solar project development specifically and corporate business in general
Be the go-to person for all solar PV project legal related matters in Germany
Manage legal processes for their solar PV projects in Germany
Provide high standards best practice legal support in the project construction process, supporting with drafting, negotiating and finalizing key project agreements such as EPC contracts and O&M contracts.
Involvement in other stages of the project lifecycle, including incorporation of SPVs, land agreements, PPAs and project financing.
Track changes to legislation and their impact on our development pipeline/future focus
Instructing and managing external lawyers
Requirements:
3+ years’ experience as a
construction lawyer, preferably in renewable energy
German qualified lawyer preferred, but will consider lawyers qualified in other jurisdictions.
High level understanding and interest in the different aspects of the project, including development, technical, offtake, O&M and project finance.
Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial skills
Spoken and written fluency in German and English
Willingness to travel occasionally within (or to) London and abroad.
