Job description

​TGRC has partnered with an up and coming leader in the development of community and utility scale solar and storage. Our client is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their growing inhouse Engineering Team. Come join a rapidly growing company and be an influential part of something big!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review electrical construction drawing sets with third party and company design resources that are ready for EOR approval, utility approval, and site construction.

  • Evaluate processes for developing drawing sets and compare against industry best practices.

  • Develop systems and procedures that support sustainable growth and expansion.

  • Work with company designers and third-party partners to develop electrical one-lines, PV wire schedule, equipment detail sheets, and panel installation designs for construction.

  • Support resolution of EOR, customer, and construction team RFI’s related to the electrical system and utility interface drawing sets and construction execution.

  • Support issues that arise during construction and develop solutions to facilitate implementation.

  • Attend and support client meetings ad hoc to provide electrical engineering expertise.

  • Develop a deep understanding of applicable Codes and Standards and maintain knowledge of emerging standards and technology.

  • Maintain expertise and increase skills through training and job-related coursework.

  • Validate that return potential has been met by the deployed systems and designs.

  • Work with qualified subcontractors and suppliers to meet company and customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical power site design related industry.

  • 1-3 years of experience in solar field power design and regulatory compliance.

  • Proficient with AutoCad 2022 for drawings, viewing, and reviews.

  • Understanding of electrical engineering and renewable energy systems.

  • Accomplished organizational skills: proficient with spreadsheets and data management.

  • Understanding of solar PV systems including SCADA.

  • Working experience with medium and high voltage AC systems.

  • Experience in or willingness to research electrical power system and utility interface requirements in state jurisdictions where sites are located.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of solar industry best practices for electrical engineering.

  • Background with software such as ETAP, CYMCAP, AmpCalc, and SKM or similar electrical system simulation software is desirable.

  • Experience managing third party support resources.

  • Experience working with a company during a high rate of growth.
