A global engineering advisory with nearly 20,000 employees worldwide is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join its high-voltage substation engineering team in Hamburg.
About the Role
As the Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of high-voltage substations across Germany. You will act as a key technical authority in the delivery of critical grid projects and serve as the main engineering contact for grid operators and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Lead technical engineering activities for HV substation projects - from concept to execution
Communicate and coordinate with German grid operators
Mentor junior team members and support their technical development
Collaborate with senior experts and specialists within the organization
Ensure projects meet the highest technical, regulatory, and quality standards
Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team

About You
Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
Experience in high-voltage (HV) substation design, planning, or project engineering
Strong communication skills, particularly with operational and regulatory stakeholders
Leadership mindset with a desire to mentor and guide junior engineers
Familiarity with German grid standards and regulations (preferred)
