Job description
TGRC has partnered with a leading fund manager focused on renewable energy, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure. They have over £4bn AUM and have had huge success globally within the renewables sector.
The land manager will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing land that is suitable for solar, wind, and BESS projects. This will involve interactions with land owners, agents, and stakeholders to ensure successful land acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Emphasize early-stage landowner engagement and project origination.
Identify and secure land for solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
Collaborate with landowners, land agents, and other key stakeholders.
Establish and maintain a network of reliable contacts and introducers.
Work closely with legal advisors to manage development processes, including Heads of Terms, Option, and Lease agreements.
Negotiate and finalize wayleaves and other supporting land agreements.
Resolve issues related to complex land agreements and negotiations.
Contribute to the development of land strategies and business practices.
Coordinate communication and land-related requests across internal teams.
Engage, appoint, and assess the work of external consultants.
Qualifications:
A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. surveying or land/estate management)
Demonstrate an extensive network of contacts across the UK in relation to land
Extensive experience negotiating Heads of Terms, Options and Lease agreements
Solid understanding of commercial activities in relation to property and land law
Familiarity with the requirement funders have in relation to land agreements
Experience in renewable energy and large infrastructure projects
An excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills
Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and with minimal supervision
Demonstrable project management experience
