Job description

​My client, an entrepreneurial, high-growth private equity firm focused on the energy transition is looking to hire an investment associate to join it's team who are based in Boston.

This hire will be a key member of the firm's investment team; working side by side with its founding partners. The successful candidate will have the chance to wear many hats in support of the firm’s overall growth and success.

Core responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively as part of a deal team on investment transactions in the energy transition space, providing direct deal exposure

  • Conduct detailed diligence and support the creation of presentation materials in addition to building financial models

  • Support new business development under the mentorship of senior leadership

  • Beyond transaction work, the successful candidate will participate in helping grow the business and strategy formation, including relevant research initiatives (such as industry mapping and assisting in developing investment theses)

Required Skills:

  • Entrepreneurial candidates comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a strong passion for the energy industry

  • Self-starter and initiative-taker who thrives working in an unstructured environment, and value working in small, scale-up business

  • At least 2-5 years’ finance and/or investment experience with knowledge of the infrastructure and/or oil & gas / natural resources sectors

  • Strong numeric & analytical skills, advanced financial modelling skills

  • Commercial experience in principal investing either through an advisory capacity (i.e. investment banking or accounting firm) or direct investment experience

**Requirement to be living in or close to Boston, or possess a desire to relocate to the Boston area to enable a hybrid work schedule**
