Job description

​We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Project Development to lead our project development efforts within an EnergyTech business specializing in flexible assets and energy storage across Europe. This role is crucial for enhancing grid utilization and stability, supporting the electrification of society, and driving the green transition. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project development within the energy sector, particularly in energy storage and flexible assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

    Develop and implement strategies for the successful development of energy storage and flexible asset projects.

  • Project Pipeline Management:

    Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from site identification and feasibility studies to permitting, construction, and commissioning.

  • Team Leadership:

    Lead and mentor a team of project managers and developers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including grid operators, regulators, local communities, and investors.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    Ensure all projects comply with local, national, and European regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Financial Oversight:

    Develop project budgets, oversee financial planning, and secure necessary funding and investment for project execution.

  • Technical Coordination:

    Collaborate with technical teams to ensure optimal design and integration of energy storage and flexible assets within the grid infrastructure.

  • Risk Management:

    Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Market Analysis:

    Stay informed about market trends, technological advancements, and policy changes affecting the energy storage and flexible assets sectors.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

    Prepare comprehensive project reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    Minimum of 8 years of experience in project development within the energy sector.

  • Leadership Skills:

    Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.

  • Technical Expertise:

    Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, grid integration, and flexible asset management.

  • Regulatory Knowledge:

    In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements across Europe.

  • Financial Acumen:

    Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and securing project financing.

  • Communication Skills:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Ability:

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges.
