My client are a household name Private Equity firm who are looking for a Head of Land to manage the grid connections of their DCO Solar & Storage projects. They are planning a 5GW pipeline and the successful candidate will be given an equity stake in the business.

Purpose of Role

·       Negotiate the acquisition of land for solar and energy storage projects

·       Liaise with landowners, land agents and other key stakeholders

·       Build and manage a network of trusted introducers and contacts

·       Work closely with our legal advisors to complete Option and Lease agreements

·       Negotiate and complete way leaves and other ancillary land agreements

·       Help unblock issues surrounding complex land agreements and negotiations

·       Help develop land-related strategy and business practices

·       Facilitate communication and land-related requests between internal teams

·       Liaise, appoint and review outputs of external consultants 

·       Review key documents such as Reports on Title prior to completion

Qualifications / Skills Sought:

·        A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. surveying or land/estate management

·        Extensive experience negotiating Heads of Terms, Options and Lease agreements

·        Solid understanding of commercial activities in relation to property and land law

·        Familiarity with the requirement funders have in relation to land agreements

·        Experience in renewable energy and large infrastructure projects

·        An excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills

·        Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and with minimal supervision

·        Demonstrable project management experience
