​An exciting leadership opportunity has opened up for an experienced grid professional to join a fast-growing renewable energy platform in Germany and across Europe.

The company has been active in Germany for many years and recently entered a new growth phase following significant investment from a leading North American private equity fund with a global presence in over 70 countries. Backed by this investor, the business has the capital, expertise, and ambition to develop, construct, and operate large-scale PV, onshore wind, and BESS projects across multiple European markets.

Their current portfolio includes a 2.5GW PV pipeline, numerous projects in late development stages, and 15 wind farms under development across Europe. The BESS platform is expanding rapidly, with a clear strategy to integrate storage across their renewables assets.

The Role

As Head of Grid, you will lead and grow a dedicated team of professionals, ensuring smooth technical delivery and strategic coordination with German and European grid operators. This role combines team leadership, hands-on technical involvement, and strategic oversight, reporting directly to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the grid team, mentoring staff and managing workflow across PV, wind, and BESS projects

  • Coordinating grid connection strategies with DSOs and TSOs, leveraging your existing network

  • Summarising complex technical and regulatory issues for senior leadership, supporting decision-making

  • Driving internal processes forward and ensuring project delivery timelines are met

  • Remaining actively involved in technical work, balancing oversight with hands-on engagement

  • Identifying opportunities to optimise grid integration across all renewable assets

Your Background
  • Proven experience in grid connection and integration for PV, wind, and/or BESS projects

  • Strong knowledge of German grid regulations and experience with DSOs/TSOs

  • Leadership experience, managing teams or projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to summarise technical issues for senior management

  • Hands-on approach with willingness to support day-to-day technical work

  • Fluent in German and English
