Head of Grid Connection

Job description

​Are you ready to lead the charge in renewable energy? TGRC is seeking a Head of Grid Connection to drive the development of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. As the central point of contact for grid operators, you'll play a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Consulting:

    • Advise on power grid infrastructure and connection possibilities to identify new battery storage projects.

  2. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Engage in technical discussions and communication with grid operators and certification bodies.

  3. Application and Evaluation:

    • Prepare grid connection inquiries and applications, evaluating technical connection conditions. Coordinate and negotiate grid connection contracts.

  4. Infrastructure Planning:

    • Plan and approve substations, delivery stations, and cable routes in collaboration with experienced consultants.

  5. Team Support:

    • Assist the procurement team in negotiations and tender processes.

  6. Network Analysis:

    • Continuously analyze the power grid, identify optimal regions for storage projects, and contribute to strategic development.

  7. Market Involvement:

    • Analyze and participate in the development of the market for grid-related services.

  8. Certification Coordination:

    • Coordinate certification processes.

  9. Team Leadership:

    • Recruit, train, and lead a team of grid connection managers to support German and European expansion.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable degree with practical experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in similar roles within a grid operator or engineering/project development firm.

  • Skills:

    • Motivated to work in a complex environment.

    • Strong organizational skills, openness, and ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Integrity, ethical standards, and good judgment.

    • Intellectual curiosity, passion, and self-motivation.

  • Language Skills: Fluent in German and good command of English.

  • Licence: Class B driver's licence.
