Job description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, orchestrate, and oversee fresh offtake solutions and electricity supply prospects encompassing storage, solar, wind, and other technologies.
Bargain for offtake accords or alternative agreement forms such as Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), hedging arrangements, firming solutions, and more.
Organize the submission of tenders for the acquisition of offtake agreements or backing contracts for both existing and new projects.
Cultivate and sustain relationships with clients, including utilities and corporate partners.
Scrutinize the Australian energy markets and identify tactics for marketing the electricity generated by current and future projects, which includes crafting essential tools and prerequisites for this purpose.
Construct and assess merchant risk and electricity pricing curves to support investment verdicts in entirely or partially merchant projects, formulate and execute suitable risk mitigation strategies while liaising with energy market consultants.
Collaborate with the Project Finance team to scrutinize and present the economic aspects of business and investment propositions.
Act as a company representative by taking part in external gatherings and forums, such as industry conferences, workshops, and meetings, involving diverse external parties like fellow developers, suppliers, network service providers, regulators, and government authorities.
Provide support to the management team in compiling project progress reports, proposals, and internal presentations, offer guidance to internal stakeholders regarding project advantages and risks, and guarantee that team members are propelling projects ahead.
Execute these responsibilities in harmony with the other departments situated in Australia.
SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
Master’s degree in science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Finance, or Data Science
Recommended a Minimum of 8 years of experience in power markets.
Past successful experience dealing with PPAs and offtake tender processes in Australia.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver on strict deadlines.
Experience understanding complex customer problems and designing innovative solutions for them.
