PPA Origination Manager

As a recruitment partner to a growing player in the European renewable energy market, I am supporting the search for a commercially driven PPA Origination Manager / Energy Trader to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team based in Hamburg.
This opportunity sits at the intersection of structured energy trading, PPA origination, and market analytics - ideal for someone who thrives in both negotiation and quantitative environments.
The Role
In this position, you will take ownership of commercial energy strategies and long-term offtake structures across renewable assets and storage solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Identifying and acquiring new energy customers within the renewable energy space
Structuring and optimizing yield hedging strategies across investment portfolios
Leading contract negotiations for direct marketing agreements, Corporate PPAs and Guarantees of Origin (national and international)
Preparing, managing and following up on competitive PPA tenders (RFP processes)
Financial modelling and economic evaluation of PPA structures and battery storage solutions
Preparing decision-making materials and presenting to internal and external stakeholders
Conducting ongoing electricity market analysis, including regulatory and risk monitoring
This is a commercially visible role with direct impact on revenue generation and portfolio performance.
Your Profile
We are looking for a professional who combines analytical strength with strong negotiation capabilities.
University degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Energy Management or similar
Minimum 2 years’ experience in PPA negotiations and/or energy trading, ideally within renewable energy
Strong understanding of electricity market structures, regulatory frameworks, price drivers and battery storage economics
Confident working with analytical tools (e.g. Python, Power BI) and advanced Excel skills
Fluent in German and English (additional languages advantageous)
Commercial mindset with clear sales aptitude
Self-driven, solution-oriented and confident in negotiations
