Job description

The Role:

  • Contribute to the support from the GIS team to the organization The support from the GIS Team to the organization consist of but is not limited to

  • Support the Land Origination team in providing GIS data for the analysis and identification of suitable land in designated regions

  • Support the Development Team during the early development phases of European utility scale solar projects in providing the GIS data and conducting the analyses

  • Obtain the relevant GIS data to maximize the knowledge of key parameters relevant to the development and construction of the solar project (environmental, cultural, infrastructure, administrative, and other constraints)

  • Contribute to the risk analysis (Risk analysis) conducted for Prospects as per defined by the Lease Agreement roadmap

  • In cooperation with the Development, Permitting and Grid Managers support the land origination activities by conducting desktop analysis to identify and pre-quality sites to orient Land Developers towards future new projects (“Prospects”)

  • Develop more automated procedures to enhance the efficiency of this process

  • Manage the maintenance of GIS database being up to data with both internal and external data

  • Producing relevant and correct GIS maps for reports, applications and presentations as needed from parts of the organization

  • Contribute to the portfolio overview via the PDRs (Project Description Reviews) used for Investors and Management presentations

  • Contributing to or conducting various GIS based analysis, as needed for projects

  • Provide site GIS data and information (Pre-Design Assessment) to the Design and Engineering Team to enable the quality of the design and optimization of the project

  • Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization of GIS tools and processes in joint effort with the US GIS Team, and the Development Team

The Individual:

  • 2+ years of GIS expertise applied to development and construction of infrastructure or energy Expertise in ESRI, ARCGIS and Python, ARCPy knowledge is a plus

  • Knowledge of Databases and Streaming Services

  • Experienced in visualization and interpretation of spatial information at all scales

  • Versatile using Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of engineering and procurement processes Self-driven and undertakes projects at own initiative

  • Data driven, strong analytical, problem solving

  • Proficient in German and English languages, both written and spoken; further EU languages are a plus

  • Ability to travel if needed
