The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be exclusively partnered with an International cleantech business at a pivotal point of global expansion. The scale-up is transforming smart energy technology, to make energy systems more flexible and more sustainable.

With grid balancing - a crucial element to the decarbonization strategy of Energy Businesses, Utilities, TSOs, & DSOs - this business is in a fantastic position, offering a product suite of solutions to some already fantastic, global partners.

As the business ramps up its expansion, they are searching for a Flexibility Market Leader who will play a key role in its mission to promote a decentralised energy system, by having commercial & strategic oversight for its established flexibility trading platform.

You would be joining the ever-growing London office and reporting directly to the CCO. The ideal candidate will already be established within the UK & European flex/grid balancing arena – with a passion and know-how to be the driving force behind Market & Client engagement.

This role is critical to ensuring the quality of service to our customers, as well as driving the business’ success. Duties include…

Client portfolio management

  • Overall target-hitting accountability for existing and new D/TSO contracts.

  • Managing flex market teams globally (UK&I, Europe, NA, APAC).

  • Manage commercial team functions, ensuring delivery requirements are met in each region, including marketing, policy, sales & account management.

  • Growing relationships with senior client stakeholders, ensuring the quality of services is met.

  • Create & maintain best practices & processes.

Industry leadership & partnership

  • Act as brand ambassador.

  • Work closely with product functions, including delivery team & product/market insights.

Strategy & growth

  • Develop a clear strategy for how we best deliver on market needs and support international clients.

  • Act as a commercial leader, ensuring high productivity & reinforcing the company culture.

  • Contribute to commercial strategy and execution as part of the leadership team.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience within the energy sector, with the majority being focused on flexibility markets, DSOs, and/or grid balancing methods.

  • Proven ability to build and lead international teams.

  • Skilled communicator who can develop both internal & external relationships, across across several business areas & public forums.

  • Has an existing network of D/TSO clients, utilities and partners.

  • Supporting business development strategy & proposal development.

  • Ability to prioritise work and set actionable timelines/targets for cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent in English.
