Job description

Our client a renewable energy fund is looking for a strong financial modeler to support the investment team. Our client covers renewable energy projects across UK and Europe.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build fully-integrated detailed financial models from which the business will be monitored and analyzed for annual budgets and long-term planning processes and maintain the models for actuals and periodic re-forecasting.
  • Ability to create systems whereby different models interface with each other to facilitate decision-making and strategic management.
  • Extract and process data from financial records to deliver insightful presentations
  • Work with existing models to value projects and monitor associated risks, which may also entail building risk monitoring solutions.
  • Undertake financial and commercial due diligence including financial model and document review.
  • Working with Investment Directors, develop template models across different technologies and at different development, construction, and operational stages to allow for project evaluation including financial and valuation outputs, and with scope for sensitivity analysis
  • Develop and adjust complex structured finance third party models on bids, investments and deals when required, compare and review with term sheets, SPAs, and other transaction documentation.
  • Take a significant interest in the power market, specifically renewable energy, and monitor and analyze trends in the industry.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • 1-5 years of experience in financial performance modeling within an energy/infrastructure/capital intensive environment
  • Finance related degree
  • Excellent Excel & strong PowerPoint
  • Experience with Excel macros required
  • Renewable energy and/or infrastructure experience
  • Ability to build and review financial models with complex corporate and third-party debt structures
