This role is integral to our client's expansion efforts in Japan, offering a unique blend of challenges and opportunities within the sustainable energy industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in steering the financial operations, embodying dedication to excellence and making significant contributions to sustainable energy advancements.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings for the Japan Renewables Power division.
Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements in Japan.
Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with local financial regulations.
Financial Operations:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, cash flow management, and expense control specific to the Japan Renewables Power division.
Implement and maintain robust financial systems, processes, and controls to safeguard company assets and optimize efficiency.
Identify and implement process improvements, streamlining financial operations and implementing best practices tailored to the renewable energy sector in Japan.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and business development, providing financial insights to support the objectives of Japan Renewables Power.
Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in Japan, such as banks, investors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring smooth financial operations and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
Proven experience of at least 8 years in financial management, preferably in the renewable energy or investment industry.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements specific to Japan.
Solid understanding of tax regulations and financial reporting requirements in Japan.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Bilingual communication skills in both English and Japanese
