​Job title: Environmental Permitting Manager

Location: Greater Seattle Area (Remote)

We're on the lookout for a Senior Renewable Energy Permitting Professional at my client, someone eager to drive growth in their North American Energy Transition services. This role involves supporting a diverse array of clients, including renewable energy developers, government agencies, and emerging clean energy innovators. Their Energy Transition services are expanding nationally, and this position is open for placement in any of their U.S. offices. Expect a blend of remote and office work, with occasional travel (10-20%).

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Renewable Energy Permitting Professional, you'll join their North American Resilience business group, serving various clients and project types across multiple sectors. This group provides comprehensive planning, permitting, consulting, engineering, and construction services. Your focus will involve collaborating with client development, account management, and operations teams to foster relationships, identify opportunities for expanding their Energy Transition services, and lead permitting and environmental documentation activities for renewable energy projects across the U.S.

Your primary focus will be on solar, wind, and storage projects, you'll also engage in permitting activities for other renewable energy technologies and electric transmission projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and familiarity with permitting renewables projects, guiding clients through project planning and executing comprehensive permitting programs. Expertise in state and federal regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Policy Act is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Cultivating and nurturing strong, trusted-advisor relationships with clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.

  • Leading project teams comprised of engineers, scientists, digital data specialists, and program managers for renewable energy permitting projects.

  • Collaborating with [Your Client] leaders to drive growth and delivery within renewable energy markets.

  • Monitoring regional market trends and landscapes for renewable energy development and providing updates to internal teams.

  • Representing [Your Client] at market-facing events to enhance their presence and profile.

  • Directly engaging with clients and account teams to attract and expand key and emerging clients.

  • Contributing to the strategy, team development, and financial planning for Energy Transition services.

  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop proposals, guide project teams, and advise clients on regulatory requirements.

  • Mentoring technical staff to enhance both client development and technical skills.

  • Leading and participating in Communities of Practice, team-building activities, training, and recruiting efforts to identify and expand delivery resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Natural Resources, Conservation, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work within budget and timeline constraints.

  • Proficiency in relevant technical tools, datasets, and processes for evaluating critical issues and permitting needs in the renewable energy sector.

  • Technical expertise and regulatory knowledge related to land use permitting, state siting processes, and relevant environmental legislation.
