About the Company

Our client is a major Chinese infrastructure owner/operator with a growing international presence across strategic energy markets. The organisation is actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio in Central Asia, with Uzbekistan a key market for utility-scale project development and operations.

To support ongoing asset performance and long-term sustainability, the firm is seeking a technically experienced Electrical Engineer to join its team on the ground in Uzbekistan.

Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems across a portfolio of renewable energy assets, with a specific focus on operations and maintenance (O&M). The successful candidate will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of solar PV and other renewable installations, working closely with engineering, O&M, and project management teams both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the ongoing electrical performance of utility-scale renewable energy projects (primarily solar PV) in Uzbekistan

• Oversee electrical inspections, testing, and troubleshooting during the operations phase

• Ensure full compliance with local grid codes, technical standards, and health & safety regulations

• Assist with root cause analysis and performance diagnostics on underperforming assets

• Coordinate with international O&M and asset management teams to implement best practices in electrical system optimisation

• Support the review of technical documentation including electrical schematics, as-built drawings, and maintenance logs

• Manage third-party contractors performing electrical works or system upgrades

• Provide on-site technical leadership and training where required

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline

• Proven experience working in O&M for renewable energy projects (solar PV experience is essential)

• Hands-on familiarity with electrical testing tools, SCADA systems, and remote diagnostics

• Strong understanding of safety and compliance in a utility-scale environment

• Prior experience working in emerging markets or frontier infrastructure projects preferred

• Fluency in English is required; Mandarin and/or Russian language skills are advantageous

• Based in Uzbekistan or open to relocation
