Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Solar Engineer to join our team and focus on the design of utility-scale solar and BESS projects. In this role, you will work with a dynamic team of engineers to deliver innovative and high-quality designs for large-scale solar power plants and energy storage systems. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of utility-scale solar and BESS projects, including site layout, electrical design, and system integration.
Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to produce detailed engineering drawings and layouts for solar and BESS systems.
Perform electrical design and modeling, including interconnection studies, equipment selection, and performance analysis.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and system sizing to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
Assist with the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients.
Ensure designs meet relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to solar and BESS projects.
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in the design of utility-scale solar energy and/or BESS systems.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and other design and modeling software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar).
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including DC/AC systems, inverters, transformers, and energy storage solutions.
Experience with utility-scale project design, permitting, and interconnection processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations for solar and BESS projects (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NERC).
Certification in solar or energy storage (e.g., NABCEP) is a plus but not required.
