Job description

​Our client is seeking a highly motivated and talented Developer to join their dynamic Battery Storage IPP team in Chicago at a leadership level. If you are passionate about shaping the future of clean energy and enjoy tackling exciting challenges, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

As a Development Leader, you will be responsible for managing the entire development process for selected projects within our client's portfolio, starting from site acquisition and leading up to the Notice to Proceed for construction.

Your expertise will be instrumental in responding to energy storage RFPs and proactively identifying and managing potential offtake opportunities. With your deep understanding of early-stage energy project development and regulatory frameworks, you will navigate the complexities of the industry and secure the success of our client's groundbreaking initiatives.

This high-visibility role offers an unparalleled opportunity to work with diverse stakeholders, from landowners and local governments to utilities and permitting authorities. As you travel across the United States, building relationships and negotiating agreements, you will be making a lasting impact on the clean energy landscape.

Qualifications:

  • You bring 2-5 years of power and utilities development experience, ideally with a focus on utility-scale energy storage (but not required).

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater, relevant field preferred.

  • Exceptional ability to interpret complex information and distill it into compelling messages sets you apart.

  • With your outstanding negotiation skills, both written and verbal, you have a track record of achieving remarkable outcomes.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, contemporary environment, where innovation and self-motivation are highly valued.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a given, and familiarity with tools like Smartsheet, Google Earth, and Notion is a definite advantage.
