Job description

Good opportunity for a Design and Engineering Manager to join an international developer operation across Europe, the US and South America.

 

The Role:

  • Lead, provide and/or coordinate preliminary design packages including layouts, single lines diagrams, equipment mounting details, point of connection, energy yield assessments, bills of material
  • Create preliminary scope of work and technical specifications and documentation to be included in the RFQ issued to Equipment Suppliers and Construction Contractors
  • Provide technical evaluation of pre-identified PV plant equipment to contribute to its selection during development phase  
  • Optimise the PV plant design and key engineering parameters in order to improve the project IRR 
  • Review and approval of EPC engineering submittal, controlling their conformance with SOW contracted schedule
  • Support the completion of site surveys (topography, geotechnical studies)  
  • Analyse interconnection requirements, standards and specifications as well as all requested and recommended studies  
  • Support Development team with all needed development engineering documents
  • Request the release of Issue For Construction design drawings and documents to the back office D&E Team , or to the Engineering Subcontractors and review all material received
  • Coordinate civil and electrical engineering subcontractors creating and managing project engineering schedules of deliverables to the Project Manager
  • Manage the engineering support required for the submittal of all interconnection applications to the Utilities and the evaluation of the interconnection studies 
  • Field Engineering: periodically control quality during construction phase, verifying conformity with approved plans and company engineering and quality best practices
  • Support the commissioning activity and ensure As Built drawings are issued at project close out
  • Contribute to the company effort of technology innovation and improvement of quality engineering best practices
 

The Individual:

  • Minimum five years PV Engineering experience on solar photovoltaic utility scale ( > 10 MW) projects
  • In depth knowledge of PV systems equipment ( modules , inverters, trackers, MV transfos, etc)
  • Strong knowledge with all industry standard modeling software, (PVSyst), CAD and other applicable software, in addition to MS Excel, MS Project, and the MS Office suite
