BESS Design Engineer
Job description
A leading international battery storage developer, backed by top-tier energy transition investors and managing a multi-GW international pipeline, is hiring a BESS Design Engineer to join its Denver-based team.
This role acts as a technical liaise, bridging the U.S. and international markets, supporting the design and delivery of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) through close collaboration with overseas engineering and construction partners. You’ll play a hands-on role in turning high-level project concepts into optimized system designs that drive the next generation of renewable infrastructure.
What You’ll Do:
Support the conceptual and preliminary design of large-scale BESS projects — layouts, SLDs, schematics, and system drawings.
Translate design constraints and technical inputs from international partners into practical engineering solutions.
Apply creative judgment to improve system efficiency, constructability, and cost.
Collaborate with global stakeholders across engineering, procurement, and execution teams.
Manage design documentation, revisions, and quality control for project deliverables.
What We’re Looking For:
2–8 years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, or renewable system design, ideally within BESS, solar, or power generation.
Strong proficiency in CAD-based design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar).
Solid understanding of electrical layouts, cabling, interconnection, and equipment integration.
Self-driven communicator comfortable working across time zones (Denver base, hybrid schedule.)
Why This Role:
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to an international, well-capitalized storage platform at a pivotal growth stage. You’ll gain exposure to global project development, cutting-edge design, and a leadership team with a proven track record in renewable infrastructure.
