Responsibilities: As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data infrastructure and systems. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to collect, process, and analyze data, enabling data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. Key responsibilities include:
Designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to collect and transform data from various sources.
Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and develop robust data solutions that meet business needs.
Building and maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
Developing and implementing data governance and data management best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Conducting data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation activities to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
Identifying and implementing advanced data analytics tools and techniques to extract valuable insights from complex datasets.
Collaborating with IT teams to ensure the efficient operation and performance of data platforms and infrastructure.
Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously enhancing data engineering practices and methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience of at least 3-5 years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, handling large-scale data projects.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Java, and experience with data manipulation and transformation frameworks.
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is highly desirable.
Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets and identify patterns and trends.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential.
