Job description

TGRC is supporting a high-growth, investment-backed energy and infrastructure developer building large-scale data center campuses alongside a significant U.S. energy platform. This is a key hire within the Data Center Engineering function, responsible for technical leadership across hyperscale projects from early concept/test-fit through commissioning and operations.

The Sr. Manager, Data Center Project Engineering will lead the engineering direction of AI/HPC-enabled data centers across the full project lifecycle. This role requires deep technical expertise in electrical + mechanical systems, with working knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural considerations, plus the ability to manage cross-functional execution across internal stakeholders, tenants, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of hyperscale data centers from concept → operations, including standardization of repeatable design

  • Drive development of both turnkey and core & shell builds, typically 100MW–300MW IT scale

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal teams, contractors, regulators, customers, and development partners

  • Own the full lifecycle: test-fit, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover

  • Review engineering design packages for compliance with applicable codes, environmental requirements, and internal standards

  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, risk plans, and delivery milestones

  • Support/lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants/contractors

  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are embedded across design and delivery

  • Coordinate with grid operators, utilities, and permitting authorities to secure approvals

  • Track emerging technologies and evolving standards in the data center market (AI/HPC, cooling, redundancy, etc.)

What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years in data center design / engineering, including hyperscale campus and building design

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) or Architecture

Strong knowledge of:
  • Electrical redundancy configurations (substation → MV distribution)

  • Cooling / heat rejection and high-density load strategies

  • Proven track record delivering large, complex engineering/construction programs

  • Strong stakeholder management skills (tenants, contractors, AHJs, utilities, internal leadership)

  • Able to work hybrid (3 days/week) from one of the client’s U.S. hub offices (West Coast preferred)

  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
