Grid Engineer

The Green Recruitment Company partnered with a Spanish IPP in search of a Grid Engineer to support their rapidly expanding portfolio in Italy.

With more than 30 onshore wind and Solar PV projects in Italy.

Role Overview:

As a Solar PV Project Engineer, you will be a key player in the engineering, permitting, and execution of utility-scale PV plants across Italy. From technical design and feasibility to documentation and compliance, your contributions will ensure high-performance, regulation-aligned renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design the engineering and connections of Solar PV and Data Centre plants.

  • Develop and optimize PV system designs: module layout, system sizing, and electrical configuration.

  • Prepare grid connection engineering and documents to upload to Terna.

  • Carry out energy yield analyses, technical feasibility studies, and evaluate layout alternatives.

  • Design internal electrical networks, medium/high voltage substations, and overhead transmission lines.

  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation (excluding Environmental Impact Assessment) required for Sole Authorization, Grid Connection, Construction, and Commissioning phases.

  • Perform technical due diligence and provide support for follow-ups related to grid access and connection requests.

Requirements:
  • MSc or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar.

  • At least 2 years of experience in the design and engineering of Solar PV and onshore wind projects in the development and EPC phase.

  • Experience uploading documentation with Terna:

  • Strong understanding of Italian grid regulations and authorization processes.

  • Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD and QGIS.

  • Experience with Sole Authorization processes and technical documentation for grid connection.

  • Member of Albo and the capacity to sign and modify projects.

  • Fluent English and Italian

  • Willingness to travel across project locations in Italy.
