The Opportunity 

A rare opportunity to join a very exciting start up who are specialising in thin film solar in the UK. Their extremely low cost flexible solar PV has provided them with global potential, providing significant commercial opportunities. The Role

To lead all commercial business development activity, as part of the senior leadership team reporting to the CEO and the Board

To take responsibility for the current conversations open with external commercial organizations (in the UK and Internationally):

  • Develop commercial arrangements for the commercial exploitation of the company’s technologies in chosen markets and/or applications
  • Protecting the IP and commercial potential of the company’s technology
  • Exploring potential funding and/or investment opportunities

To bring an innovative approach to the identification of new commercial opportunities, partners and potential licensing agreements for the different technologies enabled by the company’s platform, including but not limited to.

  • Solar power
  • Capacitor
  • Sensors
  • Advanced security features

Geographically, the business has strong connectivity in India and is seeking to develop commercial agreements in Japan, Middle East, USA, Europe and Africa.

The Person

  • Experienced in creating persuasive business development propositions relating to technology-based products and solutions
  • Prior expertise in developing licensed technology commercial or technology transfer agreements
  • Strong communicator – adept at building highly effective working relationships externally and with colleagues leading internal functions
  • Will be comfortable developing compelling and differentiated propositions and quantifying and evaluating market opportunities
  • International expertise – experience in working with global corporates in multiple locations
  • Will a adopt a solutions and benefits orientated approach to relationship development
