Job description

THE CLIENT:

The Green Recruitment Company represent a multinational utility who are looking to hire a Business Financial Modeller & Analyst to the team.

The role will work with the Operational, Business Development and Finance teams to provide financial analysis and modelling support for bids & investments, business performance and planning & decision making activities

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing bid support for new business, product / service development proposals and contract extensions by developing and utilising financial models.

Responsible for reporting on the actual performance against approved model. Responsible for developing and implementing excel tools for generic consolidation of information across the sector (e.g. month end performance, KPIs, planning processes)

There will be a need to understand key accounting principles such as IRR’s, ROCE, NPV, EBIT and EBITDA

Responsibilities, skills and experience include:

Proposals

  • Developing and maintaining long term financial models capable of supporting the strategic objectives of the business. This will include developing outputs to assist in short, medium and long term business planning, key strategic capex expenditure and commercial business cases through detailed financial analysis and sensitivities
  • Responsible for the data integrity in the financial model and ensuring they are free of any material errors
  • Ensure the Accounting Treatment in the model is consistent with the company policy
  • Providing good quality, timely financial information and modelling advice to all stakeholders on Project performance. These will include non-specialists, so simple communication of complex information is key
  • Fully prepare modelling files and simple interpretation in anticipation of submission to investment committees; taking proposals through Governance gates
  • Mitigating counter party credit risk through putting adequate controls in place
  • Work with the client and funders to development innovative ways of structuring a deal so it is “off balance sheet” for the customer
  • Maintaining the monthly and annual cash flow and assessing the impacts of model outputs on short term financing requirements.

Business & Consolidations

Developing and implementing excel tools for consolidating business performance updates (e.g. monthly results, KPI Dashboards e.t.c.)
Supporting the Finance team with developing and implementing excel tools for business planning processes (e.g. MTP, annual budgets, monthly rolling forecasts, order book e.t.c.)

Ad-hoc

Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators:

  • Development and implementation of effective financial models and tools
  • The presentation of good quality financial information / evaluation; with detailed sensitivity analysis
  • Ensuring that the financials presented are free of any material errors
  • Monitor and minimise risk in relation to credit risk and FX risk
  • Finding a funding solution for long term deals

 

Knowledge and skills:

  • Highly numerate with attention to detail with strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies and techniques
  • The ability to create and understand the key Financial Statements (P&L, BS, CFS), tax and corporate structures
  • Ability to communicate complex messages succinctly and with simplicity – both verbally and via various Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong personality with the confidence to challenge senior management
  • Able to organise and produce work to tight deadlines

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Qualified with relevant post qualification experience – ACMA, ACCA, ACA
  • Excel modelling to be at the forefront of skillset with ability to convert business ideas, proposals and scenarios into numbers
  • Knowledge of key financial indicators such as IRR, NPV and ROCE
  • Ability to analyse complex data with accuracy
  • Financial & commercial acumen
  • Good communicator and strong inter-personal skills
