Job description

​TGRC has partnered with a global testing, inspection, and certification provider operating in South Africa who are currently seeking the expertise of a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for expanding the companies' Renewable Energy services across Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes promoting services such as testing, inspection, certification, and advisory, with alignment to South Africa’s Just Energy Transition agenda. The role also involves strategic planning, market analysis, and coordination with global teams to build business pipelines and shape market positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and offer strategic insights to drive business development within the Renewable Energy sector.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to identify, pursue, and secure new business and partnership opportunities.

  • Evaluate key industry segments and proactively engage potential clients to identify high-impact support and collaboration prospects.

  • Oversee and represent both internal projects and external collaborations related to Renewable Energy initiatives.

  • Partner with global teams to foster cross-border collaboration and harness international expertise.

  • Design and implement strategic action plans tailored to effectively meet client requirements and expectations.

  • Assist the CEO and Managing Directors in shaping and enhancing the Legal Entity’s strategic market positioning across its divisions.

  • Continuously refine and adjust the local Renewable Energy strategy in response to shifting market trends and opportunities.

  • Provide the CEO with timely updates and progress reports on project execution and key milestones.

  • Share expert knowledge and best practices with internal teams to strengthen overall consulting capability and organizational expertise.

  • Lead the development and presentation of proposals and business cases for new initiatives and opportunities.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Renewable Energy industry

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and developing new business opportunities

  • Strong knowledge of local codes, regulations, and standards applicable to electrotechnical systems

  • Proven experience in the detailed planning or execution of complex, high-demand projects

  • ECSA certification preferred

  • Solid background in project management

  • Strong business development acumen with a results-driven mindset and passion for growth
