Job description

The Green Recruitment Company are working alongside a leading demand-side response business, providing short-notice response and energy which is cheaper and greener than conventional power. This client plays a key role in the renewable revolution.

 

The Role:

The widening market and establishment of new services have created the requirement to grow the sales team. The purpose of the role is to work as part of the existing Sales, Account Management and Marketing Team to cultivate a pipeline of flexible assets, for example including: 

  • EV charge point clusters
  • District heating schemes
  • Flexible I&C load
  • Utilities
  • Grid-scale assets, particularly batteries and gas peakers

Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading commercial and contractual negotiations
  • Responsibility for tender responses and submissions
  • Increasing market share in existing markets 
  • Maximising new business development opportunities
  • Achieving targets for revenue
  • Contribution to strategy development and sales plans
  • Proactively seeking out new sales opportunities
  • Helping the business understand and influence regulatory and policy matters

You will be based within the office in Edinburgh, but will spend much of your time visiting prospects. 

 

The Individual: 

  • At least five years’ business development experience
  • Knowledge of energy markets and regulatory changes (desirable)
    • Eg. Technical energy market knowledge, especially electricity.
  • Excellent sales skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrate capacity to work within a wider team as well as autonomously
  • An ability to grasp technical concepts 
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Good organisational abilities
  • Good academic skills, including report and budget writing
  • Competent IT capabilities, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • A full driving licence valid in the UK
  • The right to work in the UK
