Bid Manager, Substations and Transmissions

The Role

The successful candidate is going to be part of the Substation and Tendering Department. As a Bid Manager they will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and managing the end-to-end delivery of tenders for large projects of transmission lines and substations.
  • Organizing and managing all necessary technical information, ensuring that cost estimates, technical packages, delivery strategies, and other supporting documentation are delivered on time.
  • Developing and supervising the cost estimate for the transmission/substation project. Ensure estimates are accurate and supported by design specifications, inside information, and past experience.
  • Overseeing the preparation of tender packages for submission to suppliers and subcontractors in the form of Requests for Quotations.
  • Clearly communicating with engineers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders during the tender phase regarding tender questions and/or the development of changes and adjustments to scope and cost estimates ensuring tender is duly submitted in time and manner
  • Reviewing Request for Quotations Technically and commercially.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Contract review.

About You

  • Formal Qualifications in Electrical or Power Engineer.
  • 5+ years' relevant experience in Bidding or Estimating roles
  • Experience and possession of working knowledge of High Voltage Transmission/Substations construction industry with practical application (engineering, cost, schedule and construction activities). Project range between 33 kV – 500 kV
  • Understanding of the utilities and transmission lines market.
  • Customer facing experience.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. specially Excel and Word
