Job Description:

As an Assistant Solar Project Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Solar Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of Distributed Generation solar projects. You will work closely with the project management team, clients, engineering teams, and subcontractors to ensure the successful deployment of solar energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Support: Assist the Solar Project Manager in developing project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.

  2. Client Communication: Work alongside the Project Manager to maintain regular contact with clients, provide updates, address inquiries, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.

  3. Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring that all solar projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals.

  4. Site Assessment: Participate in site assessments to determine the suitability of locations for solar installations, including roof, ground, and canopy systems.

  5. Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors as directed by the Project Manager, negotiate contracts, and assist with procurement to secure quality components and services.

  6. Quality Control: Support the implementation of stringent quality control processes to guarantee the performance and longevity of solar systems.

  7. Team Support: Collaborate with the project team to provide assistance, support, and training to ensure project objectives are met.

  8. Budget Tracking: Assist in monitoring project budgets, expenses, and financial performance under the guidance of the Project Manager.

  9. Safety Awareness: Follow safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for team members, clients, and the public during project execution.

  10. Documentation Assistance: Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation, including progress reports, cost analysis, and project records.

  11. Post-Installation Support: Participate in coordinating and overseeing the maintenance and troubleshooting of solar systems post-installation as directed.

  12. Stakeholder Relations: Support the Project Manager in fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, including utility companies, governmental bodies, and industry organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is a requirement

  • Interest in and basic knowledge of solar energy systems, components, and installation processes.

  • Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
