Job description

​Title: Wind Origination Manager

Location: Scotland, United Kingdom (Remote)

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Onshore Wind Origination Manager to join an international renewable IPP. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in orchestrating and advancing the timely development of our current onshore wind projects in the UK, while also taking charge of new projects as our portfolio expands in the years ahead.

Role

  • Identify new sites which are suitable for the development of onshore wind working alongside grid network experts

  • Identify suitable land, engage with landowners and negotiate legal agreements related to land such as exclusivity, Heads of Terms and option to lease agreements.

  • Appoint and manage key consultants to successfully develop onshore wind projects through to RTB or COD (e.g planning, legal, communications);

  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders per project from local communities, Council’s, MPs, MSP’s Interest groups etc.

  • Lead from the front on Community Engagement, hearing concerns and convincingly explaining realities;

  • Recruit and manage a small team of in-house project development specialists as project development pipelines require;

  • Reporting to management team on a monthly basis as regards pipeline growth, development progress, DEVEX and Project Risk

  • Liaise positively with colleagues in M&A, procurement, wind mapping, GIS, Technical design and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Be a self-motivated team player with great communication skills and a structured way of working.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility-scale onshore wind project development

  • You will be responsible for the growth & success of the onshore wind Portfolio

  • You’ll be proficient with MS Office and comfortable at preparing models on excel to assist with your designs/assessment.

  • Commercial awareness of how design decisions and equipment specifications can affect the value of a project.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related topic

Salary and benefits

  • Fully remote position

  • Salary of up to £80k per annum plus car allowance dependent on experience

  • 25% annual bonus
