About the Company

Our client is a well-regarded renewable energy owner/operator with a strong presence across China and a growing international footprint. The company develops, owns, and operates solar PV and other renewable energy assets, committed to delivering clean energy solutions with technical precision and long-term value.

To strengthen their project delivery and engineering oversight, they are now seeking a Technical Manager to join their Beijing office and support the technical success of their solar portfolio.

Role Overview

The Technical Manager will take on a central role in providing technical leadership and oversight across the company’s solar PV development and operational projects. This includes supporting project design, construction quality, grid integration, and ongoing performance optimisation. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in solar energy systems and a strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical review and evaluation of solar PV project proposals and designs

• Support EPC selection, contract negotiation, and technical compliance checks

• Oversee construction quality assurance, commissioning, and grid connection processes

• Liaise with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure alignment throughout project lifecycle

• Conduct performance modelling, system optimisation, and fault diagnostics across active projects

• Develop and maintain technical documentation including system specs, single-line diagrams, and reports

• Stay current on regulatory updates, technology trends, and innovation in solar PV systems

• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on equipment selection and design improvements

• Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for performance or reliability issues

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of technical experience in the solar PV sector

• Strong knowledge of solar design principles, inverters, transformers, and grid interface

• Electrical engineering background preferred (Bachelor’s degree or above)

• Familiarity with PVsyst, AutoCAD, SCADA, and other design and monitoring tools

• Good understanding of China’s energy regulations, permitting, and grid requirements

• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple project timelines

• Mandarin fluency is essential; English proficiency is an advantage

• Based in Beijing or willing to relocate
