Job description
We are looking for a Survey Party Chief to join our team in Belgium on a permanent staff basis operating within Offshore Wind.
About the Role
The Party Chief is responsible for overseeing all survey operations on offshore projects, leading a team of surveyors, ensuring safety and quality standards, monitoring project progress, and reporting on budget control while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Involved in all dredging and offshore projects worldwide, the survey department is responsible for organising all hydrographic and topographic measurements in all phases of the works. For our offshore fall pipe vessels, we are looking for a party chief responsible for all survey activities on board. Are you able to lead the team of surveyors?
Responsibilities
You are responsible for the survey operations (preparation, mobilisation and execution) and ensure they are carried out following the method statement and in a safe way
Lead the offshore project team on board, optimising productivity and efficiency
Communicate clearly with key project stakeholders: Project Management, Client representatives, Vessel master and crew
Accurately monitor the progress and the quality of the works
Ensure project deliverables are produced on time and up to the highest quality standards
Report about budget and cost control in close collaboration with the project manager
Qualifications
You hold a diploma related to hydrographic surveying, geophysics, geology, engineering or equivalent by experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as party chief in the offshore industry
Familiar with marine survey techniques, and software
You have a good practical sense and ability to do the job in challenging and remote conditions
Good communication skills and able to take a critical view towards the work to be carried out
Fluent in verbal and written English. Knowledge of any other language is an asset
Excellent attention to detail, quality and safety
Willing to work on board one of our vessels for a longer period (rotational schedule of 1:1)
