Job title: Sr. BESS Manager

Location: United States (Remote)

The Green Recruitment Company has partnered with one of our key clients, a leading developer of utility-scale battery storage energy projects, to find a Manager of Insurance/Treasury to join the team. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s insurance program and treasury management, reporting directly to the CFO.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiating and coordinating T&Cs (such as coverage, premiums, deductibles, and retentions) for all insurance programs.

  • Supporting insurance requirements, including but not limited to PTC/ITC, Property, Casualty, Pollution, Cybersecurity, Liability, and Workers’ Compensation programs.

  • Coordinating with parent company regarding D&O, Employee Liability, and Cybersecurity insurance programs.

  • Coordinating loss prevention efforts at project sites during construction and operation phases.

  • Initiating and leading an annual corporate risk assessment process to assess risk identification, rating, and management plans, reporting findings to Senior Management.

  • Supporting treasury operations including but not limited to establishing lines of credit, guarantees, treasury documentation preparation, etc.

  • Reviewing and analyzing the allocation of insurance costs across projects and departments.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in insurance property/casualty claims and policy administration, or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • Experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly the energy storage sector, is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Treasury management and/or accounting experience highly preferred.

  • A thorough understanding of insurance programs, including captives.

  • Ability to present industry trends in energy storage and recommend appropriate actions.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead insurance programs and cultivate relationships with underwriters and brokers.

  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, with demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet analysis.
