​Solar Performance Analyst

Location: London/Hybrid

TGRC is working with a leading IPP who are looking for a Solar Performance Analyst to join the company’s Performance Team.

Within this role you will be focusing on improving the performance and monitoring of the company’s operational solar assets using a data centered approach making use of their secondary level SCADA. This role will include a varied range of analysis tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and undertaking analyses of solar assets to monitor performance and identify, realize, and validate opportunities for improvement.

• Providing technical support to the company’s regional Asset Management teams in identifying and remedying performance issues

• Engaging with third party operational monitoring and performance analysis providers to manage data inputs, scope of service, deliverables, and achievement of desired results - including supporting asset managers in the actioning of any identified performance improvement opportunities.

• Supporting the development, use and reporting of operational performance KPIs through the company’s various SCADA and reporting systems.

• Conducting long-term operational energy yield reforecasts for the company’s existing portfolio assets.

• Developing operational test procedures to monitor performance and identify issues, e.g. I-V curve tracing, electroluminescence, drone thermography, module laboratory testing

• Supporting contractual performance testing, including contractual specification, data monitoring/quality assurance and performance analysis covering:

• Solar capacity tests

• Solar performance ratio (PR) tests

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in operational solar analysis/performance review

• Experience of SCADA systems and data, e.g., systems like Nispera, CanaryLabs, GPM, Greenbyte, Isotrol, BaxEnergy, MeteoControl

• Ability to programme and run ad-hoc analysis, e.g., proficient in use of Excel, Python, R, or similar.

• Experience of solar software tools and data, e.g., PVsyst, PVlib, MERRA2, ERA5, SolarGIS, or similar.

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in renewables, engineering, physics, maths, computing or similar

• Experience in asset management advantageous

• Experience in identifying and remedying common performance issues for operational solar projects, for example through technical asset management.

• Willingness to travel internationally.

• Excellent communication skills - fluent English. Spanish language a significant advantage
