About the Company: Our client is a leading Renewable Energy Developer with a strong commitment to sustainability and the environment. They specialize in onshore wind projects and are currently seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to join their team in Illinois on a contractual basis.
Job Description: As a Site Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel working on onshore wind projects in Illinois. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, promoting a culture of safety excellence and compliance with safety regulations.
Develop and execute site-specific safety plans in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at project sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to establish safety objectives and goals.
Provide safety training, orientation, and continuous education to project personnel, ensuring full awareness of safety procedures and guidelines.
Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Maintain and update safety records, incident reports, and safety-related documentation.
Stay up-to-date with state and federal safety regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from project personnel.
Foster a positive safety culture by actively engaging with on-site teams and instilling a sense of responsibility for safety.
Proven experience as a Site Safety Manager or in a similar role within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on onshore wind projects.
Deep knowledge of onshore wind construction safety practices, OSHA regulations, and industry-specific safety standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills for effective interaction with project teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and make well-informed decisions, especially in high-pressure situations.
Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR) are highly advantageous.
Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
