​Job Title: Solar Site Manager (Freelance)

Location: UK

Pay Rate: £400 per day

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Solar Site Manager to oversee the construction and commissioning of a solar farm project in the UK. As a freelance Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily site activities and ensuring that the project is delivered on time and within budget. You will be the main point of contact for the client, contractors, and subcontractors, and will be responsible for ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the growth of renewable energy projects in the UK.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of the solar farm project, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards

  • Manage the daily site activities, including coordination of contractors and subcontractors, tracking progress, and resolving issues

  • Ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget, including monitoring project expenses and reporting on progress to the project team and management

  • Maintain strong relationships with the client, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring that all parties are meeting the project's requirements and expectations

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project schedules are met and projects are delivered within budget

  • Conduct regular audits of the construction and commissioning processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and other relevant standards

  • Manage the documentation related to the construction and commissioning activities, ensuring that all records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date

  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on site activities and issues

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in solar site management, preferably in the UK or Europe

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures related to solar farm construction and commissioning

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of contractors and subcontractors

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines and changing priorities

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred

  • Certification in health and safety, project management, or a related field is a plus

 

Working Conditions:

  • This is a freelance position for the duration of the solar farm project, expected to be 6-12 months in length

  • Work is conducted on-site at the solar farm project, with some work in an office setting

  • Work schedules may vary and require weekend or overtime work, as needed
