Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Developer to join our clients team in Finland and contribute to the development and implementation of onshore wind projects. As a Senior Project Developer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and executing wind energy projects, from initial concept through to construction and operation. Your expertise and strategic thinking will help drive the growth of our renewable energy portfolio and contribute to Finland's clean energy transition.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Identification: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential onshore wind project opportunities in Finland. Stay updated on the renewable energy landscape, government policies, and market trends to evaluate project feasibility.

  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including landowners, local communities, regulatory authorities, and utilities. Collaborate with internal and external partners to secure land rights, permits, and necessary approvals for project development.

  3. Site Assessment and Feasibility: Lead site assessment activities including wind resource assessment, environmental impact studies, grid connection analysis, and technical due diligence. Evaluate project feasibility, considering technical, financial, and regulatory aspects.

  4. Project Development: Manage the entire project development lifecycle, from project concept and design to securing financing and construction. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, legal experts, environmental consultants, and financial analysts, to ensure smooth project progression.

  5. Permitting and Compliance: Oversee the permitting process and ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations. Liaise with regulatory authorities, prepare permit applications, and address any environmental or social concerns.

  6. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and finalize agreements with suppliers, contractors, and other relevant parties. Ensure contractual terms align with project objectives and meet legal requirements.

  7. Project Management: Provide oversight and direction to project teams, contractors, and consultants throughout the development, construction, and commissioning phases. Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, and address any issues that may arise.

  8. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare project reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of project activities, milestones, and outcomes.

  9. Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies in onshore wind power generation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of project development processes and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.

  • Experience in project development within the onshore wind sector, preferably in Finland or a similar market.

  • Strong understanding of wind energy technologies, project economics, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven track record in successfully developing and delivering onshore wind projects, from concept to operation.

  • Familiarity with permitting processes, environmental assessments, and land acquisition in the renewable energy sector.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels.
