Job description

As part of your role, you will take charge of overseeing the development, engineering, procurement, and construction processes for new production facilities focused on green hydrogen and its derivatives (green ammonia and synthetic LNG). These facilities are owned and managed by clients and investment funds associated with our client. The primary geographical area of focus for these initiatives is Nordics. Notably, there's an ongoing project to construct and an advanced engineering and permitting phase for Multi MW project. Additional green hydrogen ventures are currently in progress in Nordics, with future expansion plans encompassing other European markets.

Your primary sphere of influence will be comprehensive technical project management, where you'll enjoy a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You'll be overseeing a planned investment volume of hundreds million euros, with the potential to ascend to a managing director role within the project Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).

This position reports directly to the Head of Infrastructure Engineering.

The Role:

  1. Formulating a project realization strategy, complete with schedules, requirements, and budgets.

  2. Procuring and overseeing external advisors, including those with technical and permitting expertise, in accordance with the project realization strategy and its interconnected elements.

  3. Coordinating with project partners, representing the project both internally and externally to stakeholders.

  4. Supervising and coordinating the plant engineering aspects of the facilities, working alongside external advisors and suppliers.

  5. Defining and executing a procurement strategy for the actualization of the plant, encompassing technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers.

  6. Establishing a construction management and operational framework, heavily reliant on external support.

  7. Holding overall responsibility for the construction and commissioning phases of the facilities, ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and ESG standards, as well as meeting established schedules and budgets.

  8. Preparing the project for a seamless transition into commercial operation.

  9. Assisting the investment team in navigating financing processes.

  10. Supporting the investment team's activities related to asset valuation and acquisition, as well as aiding the client solutions team in fundraising efforts and client communication.

The Person:

  • Possess a graduate degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related field.

  • Hold a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in the planning and construction of chemical plants. Prior familiarity with hydrogen-related technologies is beneficial, though not mandatory.

  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of project management, including the coordination of external suppliers and engineering firms.

  • Exhibit adeptness in negotiating contracts and agreements, complemented by exceptional presentation and communication skills.

  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages being advantageous.

  • Display a willingness to travel to project sites and key suppliers as required.
