Job Description:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all project managers and all projects in construction and help establishing the plan, schedule, and budget of renewable energy and site/civil projects through all phases of construction. The Senior Project Manager will set procedures and standards for all project managers to adopt and implement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Possess working knowledge of key equipment required for the construction of commercial and industrial scale solar photovoltaic systems.
Develop, coordinate, and manage multiple project managers and plans across multiple locations.
Track project costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates.
Oversee project managers as they develop and maintain project schedule; identify a critical path and key milestones for a project’s success.
Coordinate with internal resources to execute the project plan and ensure communication is clear.
Oversee the management contract negotiations, change orders, and other agreements with subcontractors.
Communicate with utilities and authorities having jurisdiction regarding interconnection, permitting, and other regulatory compliance issues.
Provide reporting of project progress and challenges on a reoccurring basis.
Perform problem troubleshooting and evaluations of technical, quality, and installation issues.
Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
Manage and maintain project documentation, including drawings, submittals, permits, test reports, and quality inspections.
Develop and execute a successful QA/QC process throughout construction.
Perform all other duties assigned, as necessary.
Develop and implement Construction Standards to implement across the entire company
Qualifications and Skills
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, architecture, or related from an accredited university required.
5+ years of previous experience in project management or construction management required.
2+ years in energy project management experience, including solar and or wind, storage, fuel cell, and other technologies required.
Experience and understanding of Distributed Generation projects required
PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification preferred.
OSHA 10 required.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project and Procore software preferred.
Solid understanding of the project management process.
Ability to problem-solve both personnel issues and project issues.
Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
