Job description

Opportunity to join an established European Solar PV IPP who are looking to explore opportunities in Brazil. Candidate must have prior experience developing Solar PV Projects and an understanding of the Brazilian energy market.

The Role:

  • Originate news business opportunities (Solar PV large scale projects)
  • Identify and secure land, grid connection feasibility, lead permitting and all authorizations until Financial Close
  • Lead and manage 1GW green development including local allocated consultants
  • Corporate set up and management
  • Manage project development from Greenfield to Operation according to high, international standard
  • Initial focus on ongoing projects in collaboration with the Project head and Project Director
  • Manage all local project stakeholders, from offtaker to grid operator, governmental bodies, service providers and contractors
  • Manage budgets, milestones, schedules and deliverables for assigned development projects
  • Review of project agreements: PPA, Interconnection, lease agreement, JV agreements, EPC and O&M contract
  • Interface with all project functional areas: Engineering, Project, Finance, Accounting, Legal
  • Managing and tracking existing development contracts
  • Management of project due diligence processes
  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders during project implementation
  • Management of a local team with different functional areas

The Individual:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience within solar business
  • Proven Project management skills during origination and development stage in large scale solar or comparable projects
  • Understanding of the project and corporate structure of large scale renewable energy projects
  • Understanding of Brasilian energy market specifically offtaking possibilities
  • Experience and familiarity with structured project finance and the sensitivities of equity and debt providers related to the respective terms of the PPA
  • Self-driven and able to work flexibly with stakeholders from different cultures
  • Experience with complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages would be an asset
