Job description

Client: A leading solar energy company dedicated to driving the global transition towards clean and sustainable energy solutions. As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing their procurement activities and supply chain operations to support the overall mission of building a greener future.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Procurement Planning:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and sustainability criteria.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

  2. Supplier Management:

    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

    • Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers, monitor their adherence to quality standards, and address any issues or concerns.

    • Continuously evaluate the market for potential suppliers, new technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.

  3. Supply Chain Optimization:

    • Streamline and optimize the end-to-end supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize risks.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and digitization to enhance procurement operations.

    • Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the availability of materials and resources.

  4. Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain, such as disruptions in the availability of key components or materials.

    • Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize the impact of supply chain disruptions.

    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions that may impact procurement and supply chain activities.

  5. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

    • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify opportunities for professional growth and development.

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability within the procurement team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within the renewable energy industry.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market dynamics, and supplier management strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and achieving cost savings.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, and familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
