Job description

We are looking for a Senior Originator with strong commercial drive and business purpose, who wants to join an ambitious and experienced deal-making team with a deep understanding of energy markets. In this role, you will lead and expand our relationships with renewable investors, flexible generators, corporate off-takers, and PPA supply partners within the German market.

You will originate, prioritise, and negotiate physical and financial commodity agreements with both renewable/flexible generators and consumers to help accelerate the energy transition.

The Job:

  • Lead, negotiate and execute value-adding generator PPAs, corporate PPAs, corporate supply agreements, OTC energy commodity contracts, green certificates, and battery/ flexibility optimization agreements.

  • Be the key contributor to initiate and secure delivery of new origination initiatives, such as new products and structures, or new asset markets.

  • Work to develop and maintain relationships with generators, independent power producers, project developers, investors, banks, utilities/local suppliers, and corporate customers.

  • Translate observed market issues into solutions in close cooperation with the rest of the organization. This may include a deep knowledge of electricity grid codes, renewable energy policies for renewable power and gas, derivatives risk profiles and operational and cash flow implications of the relevant products/structures.

The Person:

  • You have multi-year experience working in energy commodity origination or renewable asset management.

  • You have a proven track record in developing and closing commodity transactions.

  • You are experienced and familiar with either all or some non-standard power contracts and preferably with long-term renewable PPAs, basic knowledge of project financing and master trade agreements.

  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced/high-performance environment.

  • You are proficient in German and English languages.

  • You have strong sales, deal structuring, and negotiation skills, and strong stakeholder management and deal leadership skills.

  • You have renewable and/or energy wholesale market expertise, for example, wholesale market regulation, market practice for physical and financial energy trading, specific knowledge of practice and rules for renewable assets, or a strong understanding of renewable finance and corporate procurement trends.

In conclusion, be part of an organisation to drive the renewable energy revolution and contribute to a sustainable future.
